Tony’s Restaurant in Brooklyn, Please
Drabble 309 | Investment
Today’s drabble challenge is the word investment. The twist is that a celebrity hops into the taxi I am driving.
A drabble is a 100-word fictional story.
The cab’s tires squeal as the car leaves the curb…
Joey picked up his fare, an older gentleman, in Lower Manhattan. Looking in the mirror, he asked, “Aren’t you Sir Anthony Hopkins?”
“Yes,” the actor replied. “Tony’s Restaurant in Brooklyn, please.”
“I admire your work, but The World’s Fastest Indian is my favorite,” the cabbie said. “I studied to be an actor myself.”
Hopkins asked, “Why don’t you act?”
“I put on a show whenever someone gets into my cab. Besides, the taxi medallion was a huge investment,” Joey replied. “Have you eaten at Tony’s before?”
“Yes. They serve mouthwatering fava beans. I wash them down with chianti,” exclaimed Hopkins.
Drabbles are fun to write and read. Are you itching to write your own? If so, check out these guidelines:
