Eleanor walked into the bedroom she used to share with Mark. He’d left while she was working. She thought that this was another bump in their rocky road, but he quit her. And made a mess while doing it.
Eleanor picked up the dress she wore when Mark last took her out. In his haste to go, Mark tossed it, like he’d done with Eleanor. Her first step was to clean up what he threw aside. She let her dress hang in the closet, the lone garment on the rack, and she sighed, grateful to take up her own space.
