Drabbles are short — only 100 words. Please go to the bottom of the page & stay on it for 30 seconds or more so the stories are counted as read. Please read, highlight, clap, and comment — let us know you’ve been here! Thank you! 😁

Today’s word is “snare” and the drabble is based on the story being set in a sewer.

As Paige came off her skateboard it rolled perfectly into the sewage drain in the curb. “Oh No!” she exclaimed.

“I’m not going in,” she told her friends, “It’s gone”.

“I’ll go get it,” said John, the boy she had a mad crush on.

As John crept into the small opening in the curb everyone held their breath. They’d heard of kids who had tempted fate but didn’t know anyone personally.

His feet hit the ground and he yelled proudly, “I found it!”

As he handed the board up his foot caught a snare and he heard,

“Don’t leave yet.”
