Because Chukwuemeka hated poverty with a passion, he barged through life with an iron-hot, searing ambition.
He swore to everyone that making money was his life’s mission. But several decades later, having fulfilled his mission, something gaped within him like an omission.
So nowadays, with his sight failing, he spends his time reciting limericks to his many grandchildren.
One of his famous ones goes like this
There once was an old man, once so young,
With strength and speed, songs to be sung.
Through life he would glide,
With vigor and pride,
Now wisdom, not strength, is his tongue.
