Where Do We Begin?
RWDrabble 2.0.76 | Friendship
A Drabble is a work of fiction that is exactly 100 words. No more. No less.
The word of the day is FRIENDSHIP. The twist is that there’s no twist.
We giggled at our own awkwardness, trying to remember what we had done with our previous silences, cursing the barista for serving coffee too hot to absorb our attention.
Forty years of friendship, yet we hadn’t seen each other more than a handful of times in the last ten.
Once, at the funeral.
That Christmas when you gave me the book that changed my life.
The night of your wedding, in tears over uncertainty and mistakes.
The day I showed up at your house and we cried about the dog.
Another funeral.
“So… how is everything?”
Where do I begin?
