Every day, eight-year-old Donny made Joann cry on the playground, calling her a Snaggletooth. Joann’s protruding canine teeth were very noticeable.
Joann was happy to go to a different school than Donny, starting in sixth grade.
Years later, Donny was enamored by a girl he saw at Starbucks. To break the ice, he approached her and said she looked familiar.
Years of orthodontics had made Joann’s smile lovely as she flashed it at Donny.
“Are you looking for Snaggletooth?” Joann asked, to Donny’s surprise.
“Here, bite this!” she said as she threw her empty cup in his face.
