Almost every yard in Anabelle’s neighborhood had damage from the storm’s powerful winds.

Crepe myrtles, typically appearing fragile, with smooth bark that peeled each year, withstood the winds ten times better than the mighty oaks and sycamores. Huge oak trunks were torn from their roots, flung onto lawns and roofs.
