Writing On The Wall

The random word of the day is writing.
Life seemed to toss another curveball at us. We have to face our demon’s actions — my dad.
This morning while enjoying Mom’s awesome baguette-style French toast, she said: “Jay, the writing is on the wall.”
“Mom?” I asked licking trails of honey off my fingers. “What happened?”
“Your dad did it again. He was caught red-handed stealing jewelry from the Smiths’ house last night.”
“Damn! What’s wrong with him?” I asked. “He broke his parole conditions.”
“Yeah, Jay, he’s going away for a long time — this time,” she sighed.
“Mom, maybe it’s for the best. No more beatings.”
