And you are torn,
Foam ripped open on one side
And innards staring blankly at the ceiling
(Two red wires, metal plate, and such
Never meant to see the light of day).

I owe you —
I have not forgot the debt —
For many a song,
Old movies, all the latest news
(Perhaps that is why you tore at last…
