Level Up Your Fief Protocol Experience With Influence Points
We are excited to announce the official launch of Influence Points (IP) on the Fief Protocol platform. The initial IP integration comes in the form of an upgrade to the Fief Staking application, where you can now earn IP with locked FIEF!
This novel off-chain value system is designed to power gas-free activities across the Fief Protocol. When acquired, Influence Points are bound to a user’s wallet account and can never be transferred.
Once spent within the Fief Protocol platform, the Influence Points are fully removed from existence.
How to Acquire Influence Points
Influence Points can be acquired a few different ways:
Locking Your FIEF
For every FIEF locked in the Fief Staking application, you receive 0.03 IP per day. This amount is automatically credited to your wallet account.
As an example, if you stake 10,000 FIEF today, you will earn 300 IP daily.

Direct Purchase
Fief will soon offer the ability to purchase IP directly from the Fief Shop. Users can select from four (4) distinct purchase tiers, with the latter three having an associated bonus.
Upon purchase, the IP is automatically credited to your wallet account and can be freely spent on the platform.
Fiefverse Activity
Your in-game activity should matter. That is why we are infusing elements of the Fiefverse with the ability to earn IP!
To start, we are empowering Fief Avatars with the ability to earn daily Influence Point rewards. To do so, users must outfit their Fief Avatar with gear. Each piece of gear carries with it an IP Score trait, which determines how much IP it produces per day.
Once live, users will be able to manage their Fief Avatar and gear inventory within our Unity app, choose which gear they want to equip, and begin earning. It’s as simple as that.
In time, we will be unlocking the ability to earn IP while you participate in games and experiences within the Fiefverse.
Metaverse Season Pass
IP will be a major reward incentive within the Metaverse Season Pass. The Metaverse Season Pass will include both Fiefverse and third-party game title tracks.
Community and Behavior
To promote positive behavior and efficiently grow our community, we will be using IP as part of a variety of reward programs.
This will include, but is not limited to, the Fief Creator program which allows approved creators to earn ETH and IP rewards whenever their code is used in the Fief Shop. More on this to come in the new year.
How to Use Influence Points
In short, our goal is to replace all major activities on the Fief Platform that otherwise would require a fungible token with Influence Points.
The use of Influence Points can be bucketed into two major categories:
Decentralized Applications
Fief is designing accessible decentralized applications designed for web3 gaming. With this in mind, we have built a flexible architecture that reduces the requirement for on-chain transactions across most of our dapps, empowering gamers to retain custody and control over their assets.
In doing so, we have opened up the ability to plug in IP into the dapp experience, where IP is required to access and/or maximize outputs of dapp participation. Additionally, IP can be used to further subsidize or incentivize activities, such as rewards for trading activity.
A strong example, and our next major dapp release after the Fief Shop, is Loot Farms. With Loot Farms, users are able to earn a multitude of rewards on their metaverse assets without having to send them to a contract.
Rewards will range from FIEF token output to associated dapp transaction fees and other third-party rewards from partner projects. Each Loot Farm is gated by IP, meaning a user must first spend IP to unlock the Farm before they can put the associated assets to work within them.
This approach allows us to fully align the Fief Token economy with demand for Loot Farms by intimately tying together IP with access — stake FIEF, earn IP and gain access.
We are planning a massive menu of dapps that function in a similar pattern.
Fiefverse
IP is the primary unit of value within the Fiefverse. What this means is that all activities that require purchases or related activities will be denominated in IP.
While we will work towards in-world spending, our first implementation will occur in the Fief Shop on the main Fief Protocol platform. In the Fief Shop, you will find a rotating list of NFT-based assets for purchase using IP.
These assets will range from items for your Avatar to other assets that enhance your Fiefverse experience.
We are planning the initial release of Fief Shop purchases with IP in the coming weeks but you can start accruing your IP via staking today!
