This week’s photo we love.

Everyone loves to jump into what gear was used to take this particular photo and as opposed to the normal DSLRs from Canon and Nikon we encounter, it’s really good to see Sophie shoot one something a little different. The photo was taken within Angeles National Forest, which is located on the West Coast of America near to LA.

Her camera of choice was the Fujifilm X-pro2 with a 23mm lens.

Her settings of choice were a shutter speed of 1/1600 and an aperture of f/1.4.

The story behind the photo emphasises the need for creatives to think outside the box and not be stuck doing what everyone else is doing. In this image Sophie decided to take a step back and re-evaluate the image she was creating.

Sophie: “We wanted to take a photo of Dustin holding up the tent because it was a fun new take on the shot that has become so popular. A simple tent in front of an amazing view. But mostly because it was just fun!”

Sophie is a photographer that gravitated from pursuing dance when she was sitting out a ballet class due to injury. This injury turned out to be the first push towards her picking up a camera and falling in love with the medium. She went to Parsons the New School for Design and then went on to undertake work within dance and fashion, most recently working as a studio manager in Brooklyn, NY. Sophie has now moved over to LA on the west coast and is continuing to take incredible images.
