In September we had the pleasure of presenting Paper at NYC Apps, a monthly Meetup comprised of 3,000 developers, designers, and tech enthusiasts, living and working in New York City. Having just launched the new Paper app on iPhone, we took the opportunity to talk about FiftyThree’s product design methodologies, how prototyping helps us define a vision, experiment on various options, and then refine our work.

Over the course of the evening, we discussed the following key concepts:

  1. Love the process.
  2. Know your tools.
  3. FiftyThree values craftsmanship.
  4. A prototype is worth a thousand meetings.
  5. Prototype: To make something as real as possible as fast as possible.

Thanks to NYC Apps organizer Serko Artinian for the invitation, and to everyone who came out to support!

If you missed this event, join us next Wednesday at our TriBeCa office. We’ll be co-hosting a casual gathering with ArtsTech Meetup to discuss creativity at work, featuring emoji designer Julia Heffernan, STEM From Dance founder Yamilée Toussaint, and ProductionPro founder Alexander Libby. RSVP soon; only a few spots left.
