FightHoax Secures Early Investment Round
In a mission to empower news analysis and data journalism, globally.
January 2018, Athens — We are experiencing the most critical period of journalism. This 2nd heyday is assisted this time by the spread of social media and the Internet, which has fundamentally changed the news ecosystem and created a favourable climate for the exponential rise of uncredited and damaging false content.
After a year and a half of development and beta testing, with much promising hands-on feedback from experts working in the world’s biggest organisations, FightHoax has secured its first pre-seed investment led by a private investor based in Athens, Greece.
Funds will be allocated towards our mission of empowering data journalism and reducing the spread of online disinformation with proprietary news analysis and Artificial Intelligence, by growing our team and drastically improving our service offerings.
Our main goal is to create a sustainable and flexible solution for professionals and organisations in the global news industry. We will be launching a series of features and capabilities from within the FightHoax API while also improving our core service.
This year also marks a period of strong collaborations with tech, academic and news partners, as we step up our efforts in helping news professionals understand data to create better quality content.
In the upcoming months, the team will introduce a stable version of the FightHoax Storyline as part of our early adopters program.
We will also be opening up beta access to our API by Q4 / 2018.
