We want to offer Figma users every option for protecting their data, so today we’re excited to introduce two-factor authentication (2FA). You know the drill: You set up another form of identity verification, so if your login credentials get compromised your account is still safe.

To enable 2FA on your account, go to your account settings page from the drop-down menu on the top left corner of the application window. You’ll have the option of receiving a login code either via SMS or through an app like Google Authenticator. The system works with all mobile phones.

Your account settings page will also include recovery codes for 2FA authorization in the event you lose your phone (obviously, you should write those down before that happens though 😬).

From then on, you’ll be prompted by 2FA every time you log out of the app and try to get back in, or when you log in using a new device. Once you’re logged in, the validation will last for 21 days before you’ll be prompted again.

We have additional security features coming down the pipeline soon, so stay tuned.
