Figment Networks has been awarded a grant from Web3 Foundation to build Dot Hub, a staking explorer tool for the Polkadot network. Dot Hub will include validator analytics, nominator events and alerts, and rewards reporting.

Why Figment?

Figment has demonstrated expertise in building tools for networks such as the Cosmos Hub, Tezos, Terra, and Kava, each of which use the Hubble Platform. Our software is important for validators, token holders, and developers to access information and to interact directly with these networks.

The Dot Hub Staking Explorer

  • Validator Analytics — Figment’s Dot Hub will provide historical validator analytics, including missed blocks, uptime, and daily/weekly rollups. The explorer will also have an account and transaction viewer.
  • Nominator Alerts and Events — Dot Hub users will be able to monitor certain events, such as missed blocks, nomination changes, and when validators join/leave the active set. Users may also subscribe to email alerts and follow the Dot Hub Twitter feed so that they can be alerted to new events.
  • Rewards Reporting — Since income is not tracked on-chain, reward tracking, commission tracking, and daily reports for validators and nominators will be an important feature for Dot Hub users.

Why Web3 Foundation?

Web3 Foundation is building the Polkadot network as a top tier protocol-layer project, with countless measures of design innovation from scalability and security, to sophisticated governance mechanisms. These innovations expand what’s possible in a decentralized setting but will require additional tools for users to understand the complexities that they introduce. We believe that Figment is uniquely positioned to build such tools and to help users overcome these complexities.

One of the most exciting things about Polkadot is the number of new innovations and approaches to blockchain they are bringing to market. With Hubble helping make sense of all things Proof of Stake for validators and token-holders, we think this partnership will support the launch of Polkadot in a big way.

This opportunity is aligned with one of Figment’s primary goals: to enable the adoption and usability of the next generation of Proof of Stake blockchains.
