Geoff Ryan, Writer/Director: Yes, I was kind of fortunate. After I did the short film (the little experiment for FRAY), I literally wrapped that on the day the housing market and Lehman [Brothers] collapsed, which is a terrible time to just spend your meager savings on a film and then not have a job for six months. But I was kind of fortunate in a way that after six months when companies started hiring again they didn’t have the budgets to go with the big ad agencies.
