Asghar Farhadi’s Trial is a nightmare come true for a two-time Oscar winner. Asghar Farhadi’s lawyer, Kaveh Rad, has confirmed that the filmmaker has been accused of plagiarism, and the lawsuit against him has been sent to court.

First, Azadeh Masihzadeh published the news on her Instagram account. The report had two sides; the controversial side was Masihzadeh’s lawsuit against Farhadi and the filmmaker being accused of plagiarism. The other side was related to Farhadi’s suit against his former student because of damaging his reputation, but Farhadi’s request was denied in this case. After publishing the news and the statement Kaveh Rad issued, social media users started to react. Gradually, Persian language media outlets covered the news.
