I still remember, in my youth, when I had a date with a girl; going to the cinema was a perfect date, a perfect moment, and a perfect day.

A perfect day with all the meaning of this was an event in our lives.

The cinema was perfect for sharing moments with your partner, family, or friends.

It was a ritual in which the popcorn played a fundamental role.

So the burning question is: Why have people stopped going to the cinema?

The price

If you are not rich, this is not a product for you, at least in Spain where I live, and the inflation has only made it worse. If you want popcorn and coke, you should consider the interest rate for the loan or mortgage you must ask for.

Netflix and other platforms

Obviously, it´s so easy and comfortable to turn on the tv and watch the trending tv series now.

The quality of the movies

Today, the quality of films has dropped drastically. Producers don´t go for blockbusters for the cinema, they prefer to make smaller-budget films or simply make them for the big platforms.

Generation change

As I referred to at the beginning of the article, there is a generation change, and this generation does not like to expect a movie premiere when it is now possible to watch all the seasons of a hit tv series in one day.

In my opinion, we should keep and teach the cinema's magic without abandoning the platforms' comfort.

PS: It indeed cost me a kidney, but when I took my son to the cinema to see The Minions, that moment was unforgettable for both of us.
