A musical exploration of life and love.

When the first chords of Someone Like Me’s titular song start, one thought crosses your mind that stays with you until the last moment of the film. “I need more of this”. A proof of concept for a musical series, the compelling score by Andy Roninson moves through the lives of a diverse group of urbanites fighting to find love, binding them together seamlessly with every bend of the melody.

Sarah Coffey stars as a young singer named Monica, who causes ripples in her community of friends and family when she announces her engagement. The whole cast is masterfully chosen, and they play their parts with authenticity and commitment. The lighting and cinematography perfectly compliment the themes of hope, love and longing that the film highlights. Director Ellie Gravitte captures the audience from the first frame and hints at what’s to come just enough to make you want to watch the pilot. Masterfully done.
