This series, part of our Forever Young Family & Children’s Series, celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Harry Potter book series.

HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 2 released a decade after the first film in the series. Knowing there would be no more books, and no more films, it truly was the end of an era for fans of the wizarding world created by author J.K. Rowling.

For the actors, the impending end of the franchise was also bittersweet. In an interview with The Telegraph UK during filming of the final movie, Daniel Radcliffe spoke about the conclusion of the series that catapulted into stardom and adulthood: “It’s a bit weird because we’re all much more aware of these being the final films than I thought we’d be. It’s not really distracting or disturbing me, but I think there is a bit more pressure. When we’re done with THE DEATHLY HALLOWS that will be it, while before, at least subconsciously, we always knew we’d get another chance.”

For Radcliffe, the final film was a particular challenge because he had to embody the emotional growth of one of the most beloved fictional characters. Radcliffe said, “It is tougher. It is the hardest film to do, absolutely […] We’re viewing my character as a pilgrim soldier and he is on a kind of crusade. It’s not about religion, but it is certainly about faith.”
