Filmarket Hub’s tool to make your project stand out on its online film market

by Isabel Delgado

We always try to emphasize the importance of properly filling in the One Page of your project. It is the window you open up for prospective investors and producers to give a look at what you are trying to offer in terms of storytelling.

That is why we want to break down how to use your One Page and make the most out of it so that your projects become more visible on the market and closer to realization.

What is a One Page?

The One Page is the page where you present your project. In it, the producers and film companies can look through the basic information of your project:

  • Title
  • High concept
  • Type of project
  • Genre
  • Country
  • Budget
  • Target Audience
  • References
  • Notes you might add as the screenwriter/director/producer

They can also look through more concrete information:

  • At what stage the project is
  • What’s the language in which it is written
  • What you’re looking for in terms of the project

It is important to not neglect the visual part too, so don’t forget to have a compelling teaser poster. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy; a simple image that will convey clearly the type of film you want to make will be enough; as long as the message is clear.

How to fill in the One Page?

Seems an obvious thing to say but, the more complete and better filled in the One Page is, the better. It’s not about filling in all the spaces to have them filled in. We’re talking about the fact that all information you bring in must be relevant and of quality.

A look at the One Page template

At Filmarket Hub we’ve already talked about the keys to a good synopsis, a good logline or why references are so important in defining a project. All these pieces of advise will help your One Page stand out.

But, as always, don’t forget about the visual side of things. Work on your poster and follow the advise from our article on how to make film posters.

Another tool that we think it only plays in your advantage when trying to get a producer’s attention, is the teaser. A lot of the projects we see on Filmarket Hub do not have one. That doesn’t mean the project is necessarily bad or not very good, but if you do have a teaser, it will become a differentiating element, and a positive one usually. Another thing you can do, is resort to creating a mood trailer, less time consuming and equally valid when trying to sell a script idea.

We really want your projects to stand out. That is why, when uploading a project we want to see its evolution, that way, your chances of success will increase.
