Filmarket Hub’s Feature Film 2022 Screenwriting Contest FINALISTS

After careful consideration from the jury, we are delighted to announce the three finalists of our 2022 Screenwriting Contest for English language Feature Films!
ONE of them will be the winner! Stay tuned for the last announcement on March 21st.
The contest winner will be awarded a $3,000 cash prize, while the two finalists will receive a $1,000 cash prize each.
The contest winner will receive a bespoke coaching package worth £2,000 from renowned script development consultancy Script Angel. Additionally, the project will be presented at FEST — Pitching Forum, an international film financing and co-production event focused on the facilitation, development, and financing of film projects. The winner will also receive a Curzon membership.
All the contest finalists will have script feedback from the competition’s Executive Partners; Clerkenwell Films (’The Dig, ‘The End of the F***ing World’), FilmNation Entertainment (‘Arrival’, ‘I Know This Much Is True’) and Warp Films (‘This Is England’, ‘Everybody’s Talking About Jamie’). They will also receive script feedback from the Script Compass team, experts in script development. Finally, one of the finalists will be invited to participate at the FEST FILM LAB — a training initiative organized by FEST throughout the year with various experts from the audiovisual industry.
Other awards include Final Draft screenwriting software, access to Roadmap Writers On-Ramp Program, Pro Account memberships to Scribe Lounge and exclusive discounts at the Writers Store.

‘DETACHED’

‘SCUPPERNONGS’

Genre: Drama. Country: United States
Logline: Coming-of-age twins Sam (female) and Shane (male), heirs to a profitable Southern vineyard, ache to escape their small-minded town with its gossip about their mentally ill mother. When they both fall for a handsome stranger who’s been hired to help with harvest, a haunting family secret is revealed.
‘THE PEARL’
Written by Pelin K. Liu
Genre: Drama. Country: United States & United Kingdom
Logline: When 34-year-old Ada is released from prison for causing the death of her child, she comes home to the pieces of her former life. But when her mother’s health declines, Ada struggles with what it means to be a good daughter after failing her own.
