This Sitges Pitchbox edition has been a record with more than 200 candidate projects. Proposals that have come from all corners of Europe, Latin America and North America.

The selection process has been a hard work, but finally, we can announce the fantastic seven projects that will be showcased next October 5 within Sitges Film Festival.

In addition, we have two more invited projects from our partners BiFAn and Blood Window:

SIRI (directed by Woo Mingjin and produced by Lim Ying Xian), Sitges Pitchbox award in Bucheon International Film Festival.

THE MUGLÚR (directed by Lucila Las Heras and produced by Ñapango Producciones), winner of Blood Window, the fantasy section of Ventana Sur.

An international jury of experts will give more than 15.000 € in awards for development and travel expenses to other film festivals. Find the jury experts below:

  • Jarod Neece — Senior Film Programmer at South by Southwest (SXSW).
  • Javier Fernández — Blood Window Coordinator.
  • Jongsuk Thomas Nam — NAFF Managing Director at Bucheon Int’l Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN).
  • Mike Hostench — Deputy Director at Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia.
  • Todd Brown — Partner at XYZ Films.

This year Sitges Pitchbox will feature an initial talk by American actor Ron Perlman, who takes over from Guillermo Del Toro, special guest of the 2017 edition.

Thank you to all of you who submitted projects. Remember that even if you haven’t been selected, your project will remain active in Filmarkt Hub’s online marketplace, and available to all the international network of film companies.
