SITGES PITCHBOX 2020 — MEET THE PLAYERS
For the sixth consecutive year, the Filmarket Hub platform and the Sitges Film Festival are partnering to host Sitges Pitchbox — an international pitch event dedicated to horror, sci-fi and fantasy projects. The 2020 edition will be held virtually and for the first time will be focused on both international feature films and European scripted series in development.
Seven films and seven series will be selected and representatives from the projects will have seven minutes each to pitch to the industry executives. They will then be offered fifteen-minute speed meetings with each of the participating companies. Additionally, four cash awards will be given to support development expenses.

ATRESMEDIA STUDIOS

EL ESTUDIO
Based out of Mexico, Los Angeles and Madrid, El Estudio is a major new independent production player in the Spanish-speaking world launched by three of the most connected producers in the Spanish-speaking world, Pablo Cruz, Enrique López Lavigne y Diego Suárez Chialvo. El Estudio is backed by their experience producing a total of 45 movies and 10 series over the last 10 years, accumulating to date $620 million in the global box office.
FILM FACTORY
Film Factory Entertainment is an independent international sales agency based in Barcelona, Spain. Film Factory’s objective is the international sale of Spanish Cinema’s most important productions, working with a selective slate, choosing films with the highest international potential and also collaborating with Europe and Latin America’s most prominent production companies. Nadcon Film was founded in 2012 by Peter Nadermann and Constantin Film AG. Under the management of Peter Nadermann, the main aim of the company is to develop — by acquiring rights in novels and original formats as well as by co-producing with interesting partners abroad — thrilling, compelling, competitive, high end drama and crime series with international appeal and standard. At the beginning of 2019, the majority of the shares previously held by Constantin Film AG were taken over by ZDF Enterprises GmbH.
SHOWRUNNER FILMS
Showrunner Films was born in 2019 with the objective of consolidating itself in the sector, always focusing on the creation of films with great international potential. A Netflix Original Film directed by Daniel Benmayor ‘Xtremo’ marks the first production of Showrunner Films.
WILD BUNCH TV
Wild Bunch is a leading independent European film & TV content distribution and production services company. With the launch of WILD BUNCH TV in 2015, the company expanded its activities to co-production and distribution of TV series dedicated to the international market.
XYZ FILMS
XYZ Films is an integrated content company whose mission is to empower visionary storytellers from every corner of the planet. As an independent production company and worldwide sales agency, the company is uniquely suited to identify talented filmmakers and bring their stories to life.
The call is now open and applicants should submit their projects to Filmarket Hub’s online marketplace by the 3rd of September. Seven films and seven series will be selected and representatives from the projects will have seven minutes each to pitch to the industry executives. They will then be offered fifteen-minute speed meetings with each of the participating companies.
Additionally, thanks to the ‘Diputación de Barcelona’ four cash awards will be given to the best showcased projects to support development expenses. The best feature film will be awarded with 5.000€, while the two runners up feature films will receive 1.000€ each. An award of 2.500€ will be granted to the best scripted series.
