Projects in Development at Filmarket Hub: A Summary
This year has been one of many changes and growth for Filmarket Hub.
Due to this, we want to show you a selection of projects that went through the platform and/or participated at one of our Pitchbox events, and which are in a very advanced development stage or are in the middle of preproduction.
“The Monster Within” by Florencia Larrea & Rodrigo Susarte
A project that won last year’s Sitges Pitchbox development award and went on to participate at Cannes Film Market. The Chilean genre feature film, coproduced by ZircoCine, Luis Tosar’s production company (one of Spanish’s film most established actor), continues succesfully its journey into production.
“Matilda Corkscrew” by Victor Jacquier
This animation feature film project by french filmmaker Victor Jacquier participated as well in last year’s Sitges Pitchbox, where he got the postproduction prize to attend the Fantastic Film Festival at BIFAN, in South Korea, from where he has recently returned. The project is in a pretty advanced phase of development.
Conexo by Carlos G. Miranda
The project by Carlos G. Miranda, based on the YA book of the same title, after its participation at Sitges Pitchbox 2017, it won a trip to attend the coproduction meetings at the Guadalajara Film Festival, in Mexico. There, it raised a lot of interest amongst the industry, leading it to participate at this year’s Media Summit in Hollywood, organized by NALIP (National Association of Latino Independent Producers).
“The Beast” by David Casademunt
The genre project by David Casademut, also participating in one of our past Sitges Pitchbox editions, has just presented a short film, as a taster of his feature film project, at Sitges Film Festival and has also recently attended the TIFF development lab for feature film projects. This lab selects every year 12 projects from around the world, that are in advanced stages of development.
With all these projects we close a year of positive changes for Filmarket Hub, which we hope, will keep on growing in number as we expand to new territories.
