While Back on the Strip definitely can’t be considered a family movie (too many adult jokes for that) it does have a community feel. It’s the type of movie that the grown-ups can get together and watch on a weekend, then head out to a good restaurant and night on the town!

Back on the Strip is a 2023 American comedy film directed and co-written by Chris Spencer in his feature film directorial debut [and co-executive produced by his wife Vanessa Rodriguez Spencer]. The film stars Wesley Snipes, J. B. Smoove, Gary Owen, Bill Bellamy, Spence Moore II, Raigan Harris, Faizon Love, and Tiffany Haddish [with a cameo by Kevin Hart]. It was also produced by Snipes and Haddish with Luminosity Entertainment. — Wikipedia

While the movie was supposed to serve as Spence Moore II’s movie debut, it dropped after his turn in the smash hit Creed 3. In this film, he plays Merlin, a young man who wants nothing more than to succeed as a stage magician and live a happy life with his girlfriend, Robin (Raigan Harris). However, that is not how things turned out, and he finds himself in Las Vegas. Due to a series of events, he ends up being one of the main draws at a failing hotel and strip club.

Because of Merlin’s popularity, Luther (Snipes) sees it as a great opportunity to “get the band back together,” so to speak. He brings back his male stripper dance crew out of retirement to help the establishment.

All-in-all, it’s just good fun. There are lessons about not giving up, forgiveness, and what it means to hold on to one’s sense of self. It’s nice to see such seasoned and newer talent get together and have great chemistry on screen. If you want a stress-free, easy-going, fun movie for adults, this is definitely one to check out!
