In the world of sci-fi mysteries, They Cloned Tyrone, the 2023 creation of director Juel Taylor, is a true standout. This movie takes us on a rollercoaster journey that combines science fiction, comedy, and a hefty dose of mystery, all while featuring a stellar cast. Starring John Boyega, Teyonah Parris, and the multi-talented Jamie Foxx, this film manages to entertain, thrill, and provoke thought all at once.

A Blaxploitation-Era type of film, the story kicks off in the Glen, an inner city neighborhood, and quickly introduces us to Fontaine, a drug dealer who seems to be living on borrowed time. His life takes a surreal twist when he is fatally shot, and then miraculously reappears, alive and well, the very next day. This bizarre event sets the stage for an intriguing and bewildering exploration of a government cloning conspiracy.

John Boyega portrays Fontaine, a character whose life is a twisted web of heartbreak. His convincing performance anchors the film, bringing depth and authenticity to the chaotic narrative. Teyonah Parris adds charm and wit to the story as Yo-Yo, J.
