FilmHedge Founder and CEO, Jon Gosier, recently accepted an award from the office of Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.

The Secretary of State’s ‘Outstanding Georgia Citizen’ award acknowledges Georgia citizens making an impact on the state of Georgia, its economy, or culture. The award serves as the highest honor given on the state level to any citizen and affords the recipient every courtesy as a Goodwill Ambassador from the state of Georgia in travels to other states and nations beyond the United States.

FilmHedge Founder and CEO Jon Gosier accepts the ‘Outstanding Georgia Citizen’ award from Georgia State Representative Jasmine Clark.

Since its founding in 2020, FilmHedge has established itself as one of the fastest growing media finance companies in the Film/TV industry.

The company’s staff, partners and stakeholders have been responsible for financing more than 40 feature films, allocating more than $8 million USD each. In offering non-bank financing and private credit solutions to producers, FilmHedge gives filmmakers a path to make major theatrical releases without big studio involvement. The team has been responsible for major productions changing the location of filming from other countries (like Australia) to Georgia.

In 2023 FilmHedge sponsored its first delegation of Film and TV professionals to cross the Atlantic to the South of France. There, the delegation joined the company as a major sponsor of the Cannes Film Festival (the most important International film festival and market) in order to promote the benefits of media production in Georgia to businesses and professionals around the world. 60 Georgia citizens (30 individuals and 30 SCAD students from the school’s Lacoste campus) made the trek to the festival last year, including one state represenative from the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce.

This year, the company returns as a sponsor of the 2024 Cannes Film Festival for the 3rd consecutive year. The company has organized another delegation of Georgians to accompany them.

Jon Gosier discusses the importance of bringing media finance banking solutions to Georgia.

FilmHedge is a Georgia founded company with 80% of its staff located in the State. Founder Jon Gosier is a Georgia native and is an alum of both Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and University of Georgia (UGA). SCAD is both an investor in FilmHedge and partnered with the company as a production location for the feature film, Collateral Data, which was delayed due to last year’s Hollywood strikes.

Prior to starting FilmHedge, Gosier was the Founder and CEO of New York-based ad-tech company Audigent, now ranked in the top 10 percentile of all companies by the INC5000. After exiting from that company in 2017, Gosier made the choice to return to his home state to focus on various new ventures, eventually starting FilmHedge.
