First Annual CannesATL Event Sponsored by FilmHedge
On Tuesday, April 18, 2023, Jon Gosier and his company FilmHedge proudly sponsored the first annual CannesATL/CannesGA mixer. This event was founded to highlight Georgia’s contributions to the international TV/Film industry at the prestigious and important film festival, Festival de Cannes, and the Marché du Film — Festival de Cannes.
FilmHedge hosted Atlanta’s critical assembly of economic leaders for film and television production at The Garden Room of the Atlanta St. Regis Hotel for the first Annual Cannes+Atl. This association of local investors, producers, bankers, and others will host events in both Atlanta, GA, and Cannes, France, aimed at celebrating Georgia’s contributions to the film and television industry.
The event had support from city officials, Atlanta delegates, and members of Cannes+Atl. The principals were excited to meet decision-makers at the 76th Annual Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France in May.
Several notable individuals were present at Cannes+Atl, including Marsei Martin, star of ABC’s Blackish and Executive Producer at Genius Productions; Joshua Martin, President of Genius Productions; Bobby Huntley, Director; Doug Cash, Vice President HULU; Cardelia Hunter, Director of The Atlanta Mayors Office of Film & Television; Brandon Butler, Owner of ButterATL; Paris ‘PK’ Kirk, PK Music Management; Melissa Proctor, CMO of The Atlanta Hawks; Kaleeta McDade, Chief Experience Officer, VLMY&r; Jessica White, Producer, Model; Rodney Ho, Entertainment Reporter at the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
FilmHedge was joined by Georgia Entertainment News, SCADpro, Bank of America, Riveting Entertainment, and other attendees who all helped make the event a success.
Overall, the Cannes+Atl event hosted by FilmHedge was a great opportunity for economic leaders in the film and television production industry to come together and celebrate Georgia’s contributions to the industry. With events planned for both Atlanta and Cannes, it’s exciting to see the continued growth and success of the television and film industry in Georgia.
