Behind the scenes magic of The Dark Crystal
I know I’m not the only one excited (with reservations) for the Netflix revival of the Dark Crystal. Perhaps a Chicago Film Community watch party is in order!
For another way to look at an old gem in a new light, check out this behind the scenes video from the original, which was a breakthrough for animatronics and the first collaboration between Jim Henson, Frank Oz, and fantasy illustrator Brian Froud. It’s hard to imagine anything more magical than the film itself, but the behind the scenes magic of The Jim Henson Company is something to behold.
