Today is a special day in our virtual calendar, because today Filo’s Second Anniversary is celebrated.
On a day like today 2 years ago we created Filo as a hobby and today we aren’t disappointed by our decision. As the months go by we feel the need to listen to the community and create a commitment of reliability with it. *Today we try to maintain this commitment by adding new tools that are useful for the management of a guild (or are intended to be useful).*
A great mention must be made of the community that is forming around Filo. We know that the service we offer is important to some of you, but even more so is the community. We can’t offer a good service if the Discord community doesn’t accept us.
Not everything is good
It has been a very tough few months and the lack of time of the Filo’s Development Team has not made things easy for us. We are aware that we are not carrying out content updates or deployments and if we do, they are very rare to see them in 2021.
This 2021 as well as the end of 2020, we are mainly focused on bug fixes and system updates that, over time, have become super outdated.
As a fun fact: we have corrected more than 200 errors in less than 2 weeks.
We continue to believe that it is the right decision and that, by thinking long-term, we will make Filo much more stable.
On March 26 we released a patch in ALPHA of the core of Filo for the Slash Commands. Our goal is to pass each and every normal command from Filo to slash commands.
Unfortunately, achieving our goal is very difficult:
- Today Discord has overly restrictive limits on Slash Commands, limiting our creativity to 50 global commands. This worries us and makes us think carefully about what commands to carry out as a slash command and what commands not.
- Discord.js, our library, has not yet released the official patch where they offer support for slash commands, which has caused as a consequence that we have to launch our own core and manage the sending and receiving of these commands.
Currently we have paused the implementation of more slash commands to make our work easier when our library officially offers support.
Priority command categories:
- Game statistics.
- Temporary commands.
As we mentioned before, this year we have focused on updating the outdated Filo core, making constant updates and changes in order to make the code much more monotonous.
Filo grows at a rapid pace and this worries us, since our code is not yet adapted to start clustering, in order to save resources.
The classic Filo anniversary update could not be completed this year due to time constraints. We are so sorry.
Although we have not been able to carry it out, we want to announce that, while we are working on the update, you can view it and give us feedback on our server.

It should be noted that it is not finished and some things do not work or look as they should. It is a matter of time before we correct them.

I really wanted to get to this section. I think that creating and communicating with your community is something important in any service that is offered and, bad communication can lead to poor service management.
This year our community has grown strong and, on several occasions, I have seen that some of you really love what we do.

To end this article, I would like to make one last special mention to the Filo Support, Moderation and Administration Team, since without them, you probably would not be able to carry out this “hobby”. Thanks.
Remember that today Saturday and tomorrow Sunday we will be doing giveaways on our Discord server. We are waiting!!
