Finance Club gives an opportunity to all the talented and innovative young minds to contribute towards accomplishing its vision of bringing a healthy culture of Finance in campus, by learning and sharing the knowledge with others which they will gain while being its member. There is no minimum or maximum limit on the number of students to be selected, as the selection of a student is entirely based on his/her fundamental knowledge of various sections of Finance.

To ensure a proper recruitment process and a fair chance to every student to get into the club, we have attached a few documents based on the basic concepts of Finance, which is also the entire syllabus for the recruitment test. And the preparation time provided is sufficient for a student to build the basic concepts.

What are the deliverables of the club to a student?
1. Interaction with the finance professionals, as the Club already has strong relations with some financial firms.
2. Club endeavors to provide the vast knowledge to every group member who wishes to pursue Finance as a career option.
3. Opportunity to explore many other areas like Economics, Algo Trading, and Quantitative research effectively, through proper guidance, apart from learning traditional Finance.
4. Exposure to the robust network of IITR Alumni, currently working in this industry, which would be very helpful while looking for internships and jobs.

What are the expectations of the Club from a student?
1. Students with an immense interest in learning Finance.
2. Basic knowledge of Economics, Statistic, and Financial market
3. Strong analytical, data gathering and interpersonal skills.
4. Interest towards Certifications like CFA, FRM, NISM, NCFM, and FLIP, etc.

The structure of the recruitment process is as follows:

Round 1 — Written Test — The entrance exam will comprise of three sections, which are :
•Basic finance
•Economics
•Aptitude(Quant+Puzzles)

A student who is serious towards the club is advised to study the material attached to this blog.

The three docs cover topics involving Introduction to investment industry, equities and macroeconomics. The aptitude section would comprise of puzzles, situational awareness and logical aptitude based questions. Also questions would be asked from the blogs released till the date of the test by Finance Club on its Medium page.

Students of all years will appear in the same test, but the minimum cutoff which one has to clear to advance to the next round will be different for different year students.

Round 2 — Group Discussion — A basic knowledge of Current Affairs, Economy and Financial Markets will be a plus point.

Round 3 — Personal Interview — Students clearing the group discussion round might have to give multiple interviews. The level of their conceptual understanding of Finance will determine their place in the club.

The final results will be declared within a week once all the interviews are taken. We look forward to seeing you in the recruitment test, soon.
