Tech companies and startups are always looking for ways to stay lean and nimble. As they add more customers, there’s not really the ability to hire 100 new employees on the spot to help with the increased workload.

So we wanted to highlight three helpful companies/softwares in the sales and marketing space. These tools help employees get more accomplished, stay organized, and — just as important —actually enjoy the systems they’re using every day. Today we’ll focus on three companies: Maropost, Hubspot, and Impartner.

Maropost

What’s it for: Two sides of their business — one for marketing, the other for ecommerce. We’re focusing on their marketing tool in this post.

How does it help: Makes it easy to design professional, eye-catching emails. Maropost puts a big emphasis on client experience so one of the big things is being able to personalize your message to each individual client. They have a feature that allows you to adjust the send time to pick a time when they opened your last email. And you can A/B test different email options (different subject lines, content, send times, etc.) within the same campaign.

Known for really great customer support too. A great tool to help your marketing team and customer success/account management teams as well.

Hubspot

What’s it for: Have you ever looked at the price for Salesforce as a CRM and thought, “Yikes, are there any other options out there?”

At that moment you head over to Hubspot’s website and see “Free CRM” at the top and think, “Alright, you have my attention...”

*Worth noting — the free version is intended for the individual salesperson, maybe someone just starting a business whereas there full suite product for sales teams starts at $400 a month. Still, though, that’s a less expensive option compared to Salesforce.

How does it help:

  • Automate outreach, keeping a personal touch
  • Create and share email templates
  • Get notified instantly when a prospect opens an email, clicks a link, opens an attachment
  • Send a link that makes it easy to setup a call time
  • No manually logging activity. Gets rid of the menial tasks (hey, we love to hear that!)
  • Easy to track the sales pipeline as a rep or manager

Impartner

What’s it for: Companies who rely heavily on a channel sales model often struggle with staying organized and keeping up with all of their partner relationships. From the partner’s perspective, a lot of times they will have outdated materials and not know where to go for information making it difficult to sell/introduce your product.

Impartner takes away this friction. They offer a platform that is built specifically for channel sales. And they’ve been around for 20 years so have had plenty of time to continue fine-tuning the user experience.

How does it help: Every aspect of your program, from the content on your portal, to the assets they can access, the marketing money they can access, and the leads they receive, can be personalized based on performance metrics. Keep things up-to-date. Make sure one partner has the right pricing sheet for their agreement, another partner has the right info for them. Easy to sync to your CRM.

FinanceFuel falls into both the tech company and startup buckets, so we definitely feel the challenges of staying scrappy and trying to make smart vendor decisions. When it comes to our specific area of expertise, that’s all on the accounts receivable side. So if your company is experiencing frequent late paying customers and you’re spending a lot of time chasing down customers who are 30–60 days past due, let’s schedule some time to talk.
