There’s a famous quote about taxes:

‘Tis impossible to be sure of any thing but Death and Taxes,” — Christopher Bullock, The Cobler (sic) of Preston (1716)

Then there’s another tax-related quote that’s less famous, that I much prefer:

Anyone may arrange his affairs so that his taxes shall be as low as possible; he is not bound to choose that pattern which best pays the treasury. There is not even a patriotic duty to increase one’s taxes.” — Judge Learned Hand, Helvering v. Gregory (1935)

That’s why I’m always on the lookout for legal ways of reducing my taxes. Here’s one of my favorites…
