What Is Holy Week?

For those who confess and believe that Jesus Christ is Lord, Holy Week is a week of focusing on the journey to His death and resurrection. Holy Week is very significant for Christians and each day in this week can bring the power and presence of God into your life through reflecting on the events that took place each day over 2000 years ago.

Use Your Expectation Journals For Holy Week

Reframe the significance of this week by reflecting on the real life events told in the gospels this week. We’ve provided you with a guide to help you make the most of Holy Week. Use your Expectation Journals to write down any expectations that God is speaking to you for your life through the events of Holy Week!

PALM SUNDAY (Passion Sunday)

  • Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday, which may also be known as Passion Sunday in some denominations. Traditionally, Palm Sunday commemorates the Triumphal entry into Jerusalem. (John 12:12–19)

HOLY MONDAY

HOLY TUESDAY

HOLY WEDNESDAY

  • Observe the story of Judas arranging his betrayal of Jesus with the high priests (Matthew 26:14–25).

HOLY THURSDAY

  • A Washing of Feet ceremony on Holy Thursday and commemorates the Last Supper, where Christ lays out the model for Communion. (John 13:12–16)

GOOD FRIDAY

HOLY SATURDAY

  • Holy Saturday is the day between the crucifixion of Jesus and his resurrection.

Easter is more than a Sunday church service but instead a connection in time to the greatest miracle ever performed by Jesus; the complete defeat of sin. It’s going to be a powerful Sunday, displaying the grace, sacrifice, and the conquering power of Jesus over our sin, satan, and our separation from God!

Lives will be changed and we want to celebrate
The Highest (Jesus) with you, family, and friends!
