Securing a score of 80 on Consumer Reports’ evaluation of most reliable car brands for the year
2019, Genesis dropped down a place from last year when it was surprisingly crowned the most
reliable brand by the same consumer magazine. High reliability and some really satisfied
customers were enough to keep this brand on the second spot just a point below the topper
Subaru.
3. Porsche, with a score of 79
While this one doesn’t come as much of a surprise, Porsche ranks third with a tally of 79 thanks
to its ever so faithful and proud fans who have always been extremely satisfied by the cars
produced by this brand. Porsche cars scored the best out of all the cars tested, furthermore 3
out of the 4 cars tested have been recommended by the Consumer Reports magazine.
4. Audi, securing a score of 77
Previously occupying the second spot, Audi dropped to the fourth spot this time around thanks
to the better performing Subaru and Porsche. The predicted reliability of this brand remains as
good as ever, when combined with high rates of customer satisfaction keeps this iconic car
brand within the five in the list. Audi cars were amongst some of the highest scorers during the
test while four out of the five tested cars have been recommended by Consumer Reports
magazine.
5. Lexus, securing a score of 76
Slipping a position, Lexus has secured a fifth on this list this time around. Although it has lost a
position, the brand remains as reliable and customer reviews and ratings still remain good as
ever. Having has 5 cars out of 8 also helps the cause of this company. Lexus has always
remained a top car manufacturer when it comes to reliability and it is expected to remain so in
the near future at least.
6. Mazda, with a score of 76
Climbing an impressive 7 spots to reach the top 10, Mazda has seen the reliability of its cars
increase gradually over recent years. Boasting a good record when it comes to predicted
reliability and ever so improving customer reviews, this car manufacturer deserved to climb so

7. BMW, securing a score of 76
Falling a whopping 4 positions when compared to last year, reliability isn’t to be expected from
BMW while consumer reviews and excellent test results keep this brand within the top 10 of the
troupe of most reliable cars. Having had just 4 out of 8 cars recommended by Consumer
Reports tells the tale of the fall of this brand down this list.
8. Lincoln with a score of 73
Having adequate predicted reliability, satisfactory customer reviews and some good results
during testing sees Lincoln come to 8th position on this list. Two out of the five models tested
are recommended by Consumer Reports.
