Day 217– Gentle Soul- Haibun Journey Beauty Each Day.

Today’s beauty comes in the form of a legacy for a gentle soul. Jane Reichhold (1937–2016) was a Haiku poet and potter. She was generous enough to shared her beautiful work and insights on writing forms of haiku freely with Carpe Diem haiku kai, an online haiku blog that I follow. Her death is a sad occasion, but her wonderful writing is filled with inspiration and beauty. Although, I never met her or talked to her, I have come to know of her through her writing. To see a timeline of her life and accomplishments click here. I hope she will not mind that I share 3 of her poems.

fire magic
even modern folks circle
around it

her death
the stone she gave me
in my palm

My poem today:

no more rainfall
the flower bed empty
all is silent
