Day 224– Raging River Motor Tour- Haibun Journey Beauty Each Day

Today’s beauty was a scenic drive though Gatlinburg, Tennessee on the Raging River Motor tour. There was such a difference between the gaudy commercialism of downtown Gatlinburg and entering the understated National park. The drive took us past the same farm and the start of yesterday’s trek to Rainbow Falls. The drive was a beautiful scenic drive that is well worth a few minutes of your time even if you can’t get out of your vehicle. We got out at Grotto Falls and had a pleasant but strenuous hike. Here you can actually walk behind the falls. Along the motor trail were lots of other areas you could pull off and see the roaring river and lots of mini falls. I’m sure if there had been normal rainfall these would have been very impressive too. I enjoyed these smaller areas more because they were not populated with noisy people. All in all it was a day filled with beautiful scenery.
