I honestly believe that if people would allow themselves the uncomfortable luxury of feeling stupid or out of place and out of their own control then they would eventually find their bliss.

It’s often hard to begin something new and open up yourself to criticism or failure in the process. However, pursuing new things is vital to growth. Giving up control and the promise of immediate satisfaction is difficult, but it’s an important first step on the path to greater fulfillment in your life

Step 1. Don’t allow Denial to stop you

Denial is a form of Self-protection

In the modern day, it’s easy to distract yourself from doing what you really want, which can prevent the uncomfortable, intimidating feeling of being new. Our lives are so busy now that we can conveniently find reasons to disregard an activity we want to pursue, but are afraid to start on. It’s more acceptable to your own mind to waste hours on mindless pursuits.

Step 2. Being Vulnerable

“So you’ve stopped distracting yourself and you’ve decided to tackle the pastime you’ve been avoiding. What next? You need to practice vulnerability.”
