Why We Should Be Grateful For Our Past

We all come from trauma, one way or the other.

As the discussion on mental health has been more open in recent years, it is beautiful to know that people are willing to open up.

Everyone’s response to trauma is different; some traumas are minor, and some may be life-changing.

Whether it’s about being bullied in school as a child, being in toxic relationships, or suffering a significant loss due to an accident, these are events that can possibly make us more resilient.

Per the definition of resilience from the American Psychological Association:

“Resilience is the process and outcome of successfully adapting to difficult or challenging life experiences, especially through mental, emotional, and behavioral flexibility and adjustment to external and internal demands.”

Some trauma can make us or break us.

Here, I will share a few stories of how people can thrive from trauma.
