No, really, it’s not. It’s an argument that between 10–20% of people who have bought an iPhone 6(S) either don’t get enough battery life or have enough battery anxiety that they feel like they want a safety belt. Or fall into the category, like me, of needing an extra bit of battery life very occasionally.

Making the phone bigger and heavier for all users – even if they don’t actually need that extra battery – would be a stupid trade off to make. Unlike the software world, in hardware adding in something usually means you lose something else.
