The Fincubator is a targeted program that champions the entrepreneurial spirit of youth by focusing on education, entrepreneurship, and microfinance.

Students participating in the education phase (St. Andrew’s Gombe High School)

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION.

A 13 to 14-month program broken up into education, application, and implementation sections. The implementation portion takes the majority of the year and runs as an iterative process where ideas and feedback from mentors are continuously cycled as the businesses form and grow.

EDUCATION PHASE.

1000 kids (ages 11–15) are currently being educated in our beta test in Uganda. The initial education portion of the program focuses on the money cycle, entrepreneurship, how to build a business plan, how to budget, and also explores interest and loans.

SELECTION PHASE.

We created a psychometric application to find the 30 best fitted participants for the program. It does not require a strong record of academic achievement, but rather focuses on students who show potential and curiosity.

IMPLEMENTATION PHASE.

This portion will take the majority of the year and will run as an iterative process where ideas and feedback from mentors are continuously cycled as the businesses form and grow.

  • All selected participants receive a 0% loan to start the business and mentorship as they implement. All money paid back gets recycled into future incubators.
  • 30+ mentors have been confirmed!

Official Launch Event: January 7th, 2019
