You will never reach your destination if…
Winston Churchill famously said:
“You will never reach your destination if you stop and throw stones at every dog that barks.”
This time of change is bringing us many ‘barking dogs’ to deal with. If we pay too much attention to them — even if they are Covid-19 — they will distract us from our priorities.
Inner Leadership contains several tools to keep us focused and on track:
- Keeping calm in a crisis and connecting with what matters is the first step

- Knowing which dogs matter, and which do not, keeps us focused
- Knowing the five main strategies we can use to deal with the dogs we encounter will help us find a way forward with each one (and there are five more strategies we can use too)

- Choosing the best next step helps us keep moving
- Knowing how inspire yourself and other people to do what needs to be done and keep going are the two final essential ingredients
We will never reach our destination if we stop and throw stones at every dog that barks.
Remembering this is another step to becoming antifragile.
