Innovate Finance Embarks on FinTech Trade Mission To Switzerland

The world of FinTech is constantly evolving, and trade missions are being organized in this sector as well. Earlier today, independent membership organization Innovate Finance announced their plans to travel to Switzerland as part of a FinTech delegation. By addressing partner and investor audiences in the cities of Geneva and Zurich, the word about the UK’s FinTech sector will travel abroad.

FinTech Is Gaining Traction in Switzerland

While it may sound strange to hear how FinTech is gaining popularity in Switzerland, this trend is only logical. Even though Switzerland is well-known for its traditional financial infrastructure, the country is not turning a blind eye towards financial innovation either. Keeping on top of things will help cement Switzerland’s legacy as a financial hub of the world.

Over the course of recent months, various new incubators have launched in Switzerland, which aim to help up aspiring startup companies in the country. Among those startups being guided are companies such as Fusion and SIX Group, both of whom have a lot of potential for the future of finance.

But that is not all, as Switzerland’s FinTech sector is also developing “robo-advice” for both wealth and asset management, as well as cyber security. Despite many people being quite wary of robots replacing humans in certain job sectors, there are so many jobs that are beneath the capabilities of humans, even though they are still mandatory for day-to-day operations.

Part of this FinTech trade mission revolves around bringing firms developing technologies in this sector together with local institutions and investors. Only through collaboration can there be true innovation in the financial sector. Among the topics to be discussed are subjects like distributed ledger technology, data analytics for risk and portfolio management in banking, insurance, and asset management.

Representing The UK FinTech Scene

Being a team member on this trade missions will be key for UK-based startups to make a new for themselves in one of the main financial regions of the world. Only a select few FinTech companies were chosen to participate, and several Innovate Finance members will be represented by this two-day string of meetings.

Companies such as Credits, Percentile, Bankable, and Live Data Set — to name a few — will also be making their ways to Switzerland, and enlighten the local audiences on the importance of FinTech. Finance is one of the few remaining bastions of solace that needs to see innovation sooner rather than later, and this trade mission is one step along the way to achieving that goal.
