We all have habits that we’d like to build. We want to go to running early morning or gyming three times a week, we all want to meditate 20 minutes a day, or maybe we have goals like writing 1,000 words a day.

The point is, to achieve something really hard, you must follow a pattern everyday — a process that you could replicate.

I figured out a process that has allowed me to have easy access to all the information that could build my convinction towards a stock. I had build an automated alerting system working behind me to keep me updated with every movement in stock market. Now, I’m at a point where I spend less time on searching things and more time on tracking updates/alerts.

And that’s what I’m trying to achieve on mass level by providing a simple yet easy-to-use stock market alerting platform for small investors.

If you really serious about your investment career, make a habit of checking updates atleast once a day for every stock you’ve in your portfolio or watchlist.

It’s very important to stay updated with the stock you’ve in your folio or list. Investing is like 99% reading and thinking — 1% triggering the BUY button. That way you can build a convinction towards a stock rather than becoming a swapping machine on someone else glimpse. One should always read and think as much as possible to become a smart investor.

Until now, What made you buy any stock?

Anyone who’s ever bought or sold a stock will know; often times an emotion, like fear or greed can become drivers for an action. Between the media, your friends, twitter and the market itself, it becomes really difficult to stay calm when it concerns your investments. That’s where Fintrig (Finance Triggers) will help you make sensible decisions.

Let’s dive in little deeper.

Luckily, stock exchange websites have a dedicated section to keep you well aware with all the recent happening with the company listed on BSE or NSE (2 major stock exchanges of India).

Here’s that page from BSE Website:

BSE India

Likewise, NSE have one.

NSE India

All types of announcements like dividend, splits, bonus, board meeting, financial results etc are first published on BSE & NSE websites. Thereafter, news channel starts diluting it.

Some announcements are also outsourced from news channel itself. The company has to timely report to exchange with the information which might change the perception of any investor. Like the recent PNB scam case, exchange asked PNB for clarification:

BSE Corp Ann (PNB)

You can check the PNB thread on BSE website to read all the information regarding this case. In short, these announcement page is very useful to track the happening of your stocks.

It’s good to see the transparency maintained by stock exchange but what sucks is they don’t have any mechanism to distribute this information to wider audience in a simple manner.

Apart from Corporate Announcements, they provide additional information such as Bulk/Block Deals, Shareholding Patterns, Volume Spurts etc which — being an investor — I found very useful in shaping investment decisions.

And again, the distribution channels are not that healthy.

This is where — Fintrig, a stock market triggering platform will prove to be really helpful for us.

We had started off with Corp. Ann. Alerts of BSE listed companies and at the time of publishing this article, we had added support to NSE Corp. Ann. Alerts. Next, we will soon launch Bulk/Block Deals Alerts. Shareholding Patterns, Volume Spurts etc will be on our next target. If you have any suggestions, feel free to approach us.

Let’s limit out talk to Corporate Ann for now. However, we will surely publish seperate article as and when we add support to further triggers. Educating users will always be a number one priority for us. Stay in the loop.

Fintrig Dashboard

You can subscribe to Corporate Ann which are further divided as:

  • Stock wise: Just add stocks in the dashboard — Fintrig will make sure that you’ll get notified whenever that company submit any updates to stock exchange.
  • Category wise: Subscribe to the category to get all the announcements of a particular category.

So if I’m interested in knowing the credit ratings of companies, I’ll simply visit my Fintrig Dashboard and add the “Credit Rating” category in NSE category based alerts section.

Side Note: Due to high frequency in Category based alerts, we only serve these alerts via Pushbullet App. Make sure you integarte your Pushbullet Account with Fintrig to get instant alerts in all the pushbullet associated devices like mobiles, tablets, desktop app or browser extension — literally everywhere. We will surely write a seperate guide on how to integrate Pushbullet to get most out from Fintrig Instant Alerts.

Which stock exchange (BSE/NSE) Corporate Announcements to follow?

As per my personal experience, I found BSE Ann. more comprehensive as it covers all the stocks whereas NSE don’t cover the stocks which is not listed on NSE exchange.

As an investor, I’ll only subscribe to BSE Ann but if you’re a trader where even a delay of few seconds may cost you losing your bucks, I’ll recommend to subscribe to both, BSE & NSE. I had observed that sometimes BSE Ann gets early, sometimes NSE take the shot.

Also, I found NSE alerts much better if you’re subscribed to category based alerts (as shown in illustration of Credit Rating above) because NSE Ann have pretty good range of categories as opposed to BSE which is stuck to 6 major categories.

So it depends on your requirements. In most cases, BSE Ann will fulfill your requirements.

Instant OR Consolidated?

You can set the alert frequency in your account settings.

Are you a trader? Get instant alerts. Investor? Get EOD consolidated email alert. Check out your account settings to configure this settings (as shown below). By default, both of these options will be ticked.

What Next?

Currently, we are only offering raw alerts of different categories with no filters. So if you’re subscribed to ICICI Bank then you’ll start receiving all the company’s corporate alerts right away.

We are all set to launch Bulk/Block Alerts, Shareholding Pattern Analyzer and a tool to make sense of volume spurts.

Come on, give it a thought.

What if the volume of a mediocre stock is increased by 10x despite of no even a single news which may attract the crowd to trade that stock. After, factoring few more conditions, we can make a very rough but quite accurate prediction that a big investor is picking up huge stake in that stock.

We experienced that there are many pain points and the increasing gap between how professional investors and retail investors invest. At Fintrig, we are trying our best to help the everyday investor have access to the same data that professionals had without compromising the speed and accuracy.

Our Future Plans.

What if we can filter the alerts and make it more specific? Something like IF THIS THEN THAT statements.

When you hear of a limit order, that is one type of trigger. For example, a limit order is really saying — If stock X trades at Y price, then buy/sell stock Y at Y or better. It’s all IF THIS THEN THAT. Previously triggers were known as conditional orders, but with fintrig they are getting a makeover.

  • IF my TCS stock reaches 40% returns, THEN alert me to sell 3/4 of my TCS holdings.
  • IF Infosys reported more than 20% profit in recent financial year, THENalert me to buy 1,000 Infosys shares.
  • IF BJP won the 2019 election, THEN alert me to buy Reliance shares.
  • IF the RBI hiked the repo rates, THEN alert me to sell Banking stocks in my portfolio.

In the old world, we could only trigger on a very limited set of data like the last traded price of a stock, yearly lows/highs and percent change on days. While these are important indicators, the possibilities of triggering on any real time data is essentially endless. Ever wish you could trigger on RBI repo rates? Or on elections of a United States? That world is opening up, straight on your phone.

Wrapping Up.

That’s how Fintrig (Finance Trigger) is planned to revolutionize the stock market industry by combining technical, fundamenetal, economic, political and portfolio events.
