A fancy title for a fancy event (somewhat). Welcome to the blog post for the April 2016 Theme Night.

The Gathering (before all of the participants are split into groups).
Briefing of the group leaders.

Starting off at 7:30 p.m., the group of participants gathered together in Sanctuary 2, Wisma FGA Centre, for a briefing by the organizers. It was also done to have the participants split into 4 groups to compete against each other at 4 different stations, the amazing race style. After the groups were formed and the introductions aside, the first game begins.

Bystanders ready to cheer for their teammates.
The representatives in motion (Some of them are rolling cause of injuries).
Leveled eye-view of the representatives crawling.

Classic. That’s the word to describe the first game. The rules: A representative needs to crawl under a maze of rafia string and be the first to exit. then that representative gets the chance to pick a random question that only the representative’s team can answer. Correctly answering a question gets the team 1 point. The first team to earn 3 points gets to leave for the next station first. Subsequently, the next team to gain 3 points gets to leave next. The questions are based on general knowledge and the bible. Penalties will be given based on whether the team decides to use the bible or a hint. Halfway through the game, though, since a number of representatives obtained carpet burn, the rules were altered into the representatives need to cross the maze without touching the rafia string.

The participants racing each other through the maze of rafia string.
Trying to cross the maze of rafia string in a dress is risky. Do not try this at home.
Hard work and a great simple design.

Moving on to the second station, each team needs to use uncooked pasta and string in order to stand a ping pong ball for 30 seconds and come up with 2 puns/pickup lines that are original. The third station, required teams to divide and conquer two different tasks, where they have to solve 20 quiz questions out of the selection given to them and to create a hamster wheel using only newspaper and tape.

Participants working hard to construct a tower in order to “float” a ping pong ball for 30 seconds.
Nice teamwork (though the image of Denise Lim sticking her tongue out, I don’t quite understand).
Quiz! The participants are seen here cracking their heads over questions that can be interpreted wrongly.
Flimsy hamster wheels being made and put to use with a lot of care.

The fourth station required the teams to guess materials using their senses other than their sight. Some of the materials used were green cendol noodles and cinnamon powder. After all the games, comes the POT BLESS, where participants and organizers alike get to have fellowship of some food and drinks. What a way to end the night. Also, via tradition, the best dressed award(s) were won by both Charity Loh and Sheerena Yoon for their effort and dressing up as 2 Disney characters. The winners of the Amazing Walkathon recieved 2 packs of Snickers (the chocolate bars, not the mean actions), and everybody got a small notebook in appreciation for their participation.

The two best dressed participants receiving their awards.

That’s all for this post. See you all next Saturday. Ciao.
