God is good.

Overall, God being a good father is only one aspect/characteristic that stems off from the fact that God is good. Didi (Pastor Shamala) mentioned during the life group session about 24 hours prior to the service that the reason why God is good and not the best is that there is just no comparison. And with that, here’s a recap of what happened during Youth Service on the 9th of July 2016.

The icebreaker master for the night: Charity Loh

Service began at 7.30 with icebreaker (that happens alternate weeks now). The game is simple: Keep the tissue afloat. All the youth present were split up into 2 groups and each group’s task was to blow and keep their tissue afloat longer than the other team.

After that, we had worship, led by Benz Elan Paul. And……. then the sermon. The speaker is Leslie and he is from Penang Christian Centre (PCC). His topic: Why is God good? Going back to the fundamental truth this post is based on, God is good. But why?

A short time of prayer and worship after

Well, the speaker had his points divided up into 3 parts (the 3 points thing being a typical thing my dad would do - he even admitted that himself);

The first point: the HEAD

• He has good intentions (Jeremiah 29:11).
• He thinks of us (Genesis 8:1–22; Exodus 2:24).

The second point: the HEART

• His motives are always pure and kind (Jeremiah 29:11).
• He loves (agape) us (Hebrews 4:15–16).

The third and final point: the HANDS

• His actions are:

1. Always caring (1 Peter 5:7).
2. The giving of life (John 10:10).
3. The building up and betterment of our lives (Hosea 6:1).

• He cares and provides for us (John 9:3; Mark 6:30–44).
