I’m No Longer A Slave To Fear
Hello everyone, and I remembered promising myself the other day that I would not lay the same old welcoming carpet anymore that reads: “ Welcome to our fireBRANDS blog. So what happened last Saturday?”
So, I think it would be appropriate to ignore the above paragraph, yes, no? The choice and will is your’s. But I have bought this new mat of mine, which I love it very much (thank you for asking), and it is high time that I roll that old mat away now, and of course to place this new mat in front of the door which reads: “ We all know by now our true intentions every time we visit this site (come on, admit it), which is to hunt down faces you see everyday when you stare yourself at the mirror. But a minority, I call them rare ones, squint their eyes to take a look at what is written on the sides of the mirror. However, I still love you all and perhaps after reading what this mat intends to say you’ll come and take a look inside” Yes, almost definitely, as you all have guessed it, every welcoming mat ends with a “ Welcome to our fireBRANDS blog!” statement.
Giving it a try, and as an exhortation to lead the youth to prepare their hearts right before service, we had a quick session called “pre-service” where youths pray in the spirit together. If you want to find out more, do feel free to drop by every week at 7pm in Sanctuary 2. (sold)
I never really understood why do we need to break ice when the existence of ice itself is almost inevitable. But that is another story altogether. Benz, our Sarawakian boy, led ice breaker that night.
Here’s how to play the game: (I mean like duh, of course it is a game)
The youths are required to be seated on the floor forming a circle. A ‘ Katniss Everdeen’ (simply meaning a volunteer) needs to be in a room until a ‘ Peeta Mellark’ (simply meaning another volunteer) from the circle is picked. Now, after the odds were in everyone’s favor, Katniss has to ask 7 ‘yes or no’ questions to the district’s citizens.
For example: “Is he a boy?”, “ Does he have his spectacles on?”
If Katniss guessed who is Peeta, YAY. If otherwise, NAY. * NAY=FORFEIT*
We had worship after that, and it was led by Charity (also known as Chaoroti) and her team. One of the songs is parallel to the blogs title, IF YOU READ THE TITLE THAT IS. [ :) ]
That night, we had a very special, not to mention a very humorous speaker too, among the congregation. MARCUS DIPSILAS!
“18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.”
-1st John 4:18
We let fears govern our decisions, we let fears change our minds and we allow fear to lead us. However, fear is ‘overcomable’
Quote Marcus : “ I’m gonna make a lot of new words tonight” = overcomable
You might feel, wonder or even ask yourself why is this relevant to you? What has it got to do with me? The truth is, we are not leaders of tomorrow, but we are leaders of today. God made us to be able to fear. It is not wrong to be afraid, but when you let fear govern your life, that is wrong. When you fear the bad things in life, that is good, because that is a healthy kind of fear.
Some people let their failure rule over them. Do not let the fear of failing rule over us. People, even Christians, sometimes, fear in trusting God.
What is trust anyway? — Trust is the firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something. ( in this case, Someone)
Fear comes to the things we cannot control. When we are afraid, most of the time, no matter who encourages us, mostly we are still stuck in the atmosphere of fear.We tend to fear in trusting God, because we have not fully understand the goodness and the plans that he has planned for us.
“ For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future” — Jeremiah 29 : 11
God created us for communion, and fearlessness is to face your fears. When Jesus came, He had showed us how perfect love from the Father could cast out fear.
Have a blessed week ahead, and I will see you real soon :)
