2022 — Meet Firework Ventures!
We are excited to introduce you to Firework Ventures. We have been laying the groundwork for Firework since 2019–defining our thesis, leading investments, and building our team. As we embark on 2022, we are excited to share what’s in store for us.
We launched Firework not only because we have a shared view of an emerging market, but also because we saw an opportunity to do venture differently–both in how we build our firm and how we work with our portfolio companies. Firework is the culmination of both our professional and personal lives.
We founded Firework to lead early-stage investments in the future of work. We have gained a deep understanding of the impact, both social and financial, of the future of work from our experience investing in category creators like Guild Education, BetterUp, and Degreed. Many investors define the future of work solely around technology. We define this market as technology that creates opportunity for the entire workforce, cutting horizontally across multiple verticals, including fintech, edtech, HRtech, and more.
In addition to our category expertise, the following principles define Firework:
- Build long-standing relationships with entrepreneurs to win in a highly competitive environment
- Invest with conviction, targeting significant ownership in early rounds
- Drive value for portfolio companies post-investment with differentiated people-focused portfolio services
- Develop collaborative partnerships with our limited partners
- Prioritize firm culture as a key lever that drives better outcomes for our investors
We believe this approach is all part of the future of work: investing in people, building long-term relationships, and creating community.
Lastly, as a women-led fund, we are proud to contribute to the changing landscape of venture capital. We believe that by adding more diverse voices to the conversation, we can increase the flow of capital towards a more inclusive society.
