Drawing on her Indian heritage and working from her base in Switzerland, Anju Rupal founded Abhati Suisse in 2013 to create a new line of sustainable, fair trade beauty products built around the philosophy of Seva, or “selfless service.” A certified BCorp, all Abhati Suisse products are formulated from the highest-quality ingredients, with deep respect for the farmers who provide the ingredients, and the environment they come from. A large share of Abhati Suisse profits go to support local farms, woodland and education programs. In particular, Abhati Suisse works with the NGO Educate Girls and has made it possible for an estimated 160,000 girls to acquire an education. In this episode of Firm Ethics, recorded in September 2018, Anju talks with host Evan Rudowski about her inspiration for Abhati Suisse and her journey to make it happen.
